The story of Triple A

A Grade A Company
TRIPLE A was founded in February, 1990, under the name Triple A Language Services. Why TRIPLE A? The system of giving marks or grades in England is based on the first few letters of the alphabet. If you get graded A on your work then it is the best, so TRIPLE A is supreme! It is also the very highest designation applied to large financial instutions and even countries. A triple a designation stands for solidity, reliability and strength.

In those early days our most important customers were Velux, our very first customer, Lisberg and ISS.  The structure of TRIPLE A however, basically a one-man business, has always meant that the person, or people, rather than the company has always been the important part of the equation.  I taught Arne Brandt or Egon, rather than Velux or Lisberg.  The future prosperity of TRIPLE A depended on how satisfied Henning or Klaus were rather than the companies they worked for.  I have always been deeply grateful for the loyalty customers have shown over the years.  Some of them still call if they have a job to which we could contribute.

In 2000, the original name was changed to Triple a communication in English. This sent out a more accurate signal about what we offer. Today, services are offered to customers to meet their needs in the broad area covered by the term communication in English. Over the years, they have also included team-building, inter-cultural communication, and customer and telephone service.

Founder and owner
The story of TRIPLE A has been written mainly by one man, the founder and owner, Mike Hughes. Mike was born and educated in England, gaining a Masters Degree in French at Oxford University and a teaching qualification at Liverpool University. He also qualified to teach English as a foreign language.

Continuing story
We nave continued to develop over the years, offering a wider range of services to our customers as we saw we could meet their needs under the umbrella of communicating in English.  We developed a very specialised and professional way of teaching Written English - the Combi-Course.  This was a great success with many members at TDC headquarters in Nørregade for a number of years.  We have also serviced many of our customers either by translating documents from Danish to English, or by textual enhancement.  Tranlsation is normally relevant for reports or longer documents.  Textual enhancement is where our customers send us normally short documents, such as speeches, press releases, material for presentations or possibly websites, which they have written in English.  We then improve the English level to end up with a more sophisticated, polished version.
I am very pleased to be able to write here that we have just entered into an agreement with Svetakraj of the Czech Republic, who will be acting as our general agent in that country, but especially to develop the market for textual enhancement in that country.
